The following books are in most guides’ libraries. They are all highly recommended. The more that you read and learn about sea kayaking, the more enjoyable it becomes. The critical books are those that address the skills required for safe kayaking and books that discuss the hazards that kayakers must be aware of. It is the weather and sea-state that guides are constantly paying attention to and so should all kayakers. The sea-state can radically change in 20 minutes making an easy crossing a dangerous enterprise. Continue to educate yourself and develop your skills so that you can lead yourself and others safely.
